Raintech Communal


  • The RainTech Communal system supplies multiple properties with rainwater from a single, central storage tank. By sharing infrastructure, it significantly lowers both equipment capital costs and installation expenses.

  • How It Works

    1. Collection: Rainwater is harvested from each property, filtered, and directed into a single shared underground tank.

    2. Distribution: Submersible pumps deliver the filtered water back to individual properties.

    3. Smart Backup: Water is ideally pumped to a header tank inside each home. This header tank features a mains-water connection, providing an automatic backup supply if rainwater levels run low.


  • Key Features & Specifications

    • Advanced Filtration: Pre-tank Wisy Vortex filtration filters debris down to 0.28mm. Its design prevents debris from degrading on the mesh and naturally oxygenates the water. A secondary floating suction intake adds 0.3mm mesh filtration.

    • Easy Maintenance & Security: Filters are fully accessible from ground level. The system is BS8515 compliant, featuring an anti-backflow valve and rodent guard.

    • High-Reliability Pumping: Utilizes a Duty/Standby/Assist twin-pump setup. If one pump fails, the backup seamlessly takes over to ensure uninterrupted supply.

    • Smart Integration: Includes BMS alarm outputs, full system monitoring options, and professional system commissioning.


  • System Variants

    1. Indirect with Kiosk 
    • How it works: Rainwater is pumped from the underground tank via a twin-pump arrangement to individual header tanks in each property's loft.

    • Control Housing: Controls are safely housed in an accessible, external outdoor kiosk.

    • Benefit: Provides independent mains-water backup for each home via their respective header tanks.


  • 2. Indirect without Kiosk
    • How it works: Functionally identical to the kiosk version, using individual header tanks to maintain independent mains water backups.

    • Control Housing: Instead of an external kiosk, the central control panel is housed inside one of the homes (no pumps are placed indoors). A pressure vessel is recommended, which can be tucked away in a loft space.

    • Benefit: Ideal for compact sites with no space for an external kiosk.


  • 3. Direct System
    • How it works: Eliminates header tanks entirely, utilizing direct pumping from the central tank straight to each home's appliances.

    • Backup Method: Requires a shared communal mains water top-down supply directly into the main underground tank.

    • Benefit: Designed specifically for properties with no loft space available, while maintaining the twin-pump reliability and alarm notifications.
